Going On Hiatus

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having an awesome day! I can't believe we're halfway through May already. Seriously, it's crazy how time fly! Well, I just wanted to pop in and say that I will be taking a hiatus from my blog for a while to take care of some personal stuff. I hope it isn't for too long, but I can't really say for certain. I will still be on Instagram, though. I really love all of your cards, so I definitely don't want to miss out :). I'll leave you with some of the cards I've made recently for Mother's Day and some that I found hidden in my stash, which I haven't shared here before. I hope you enjoy!

Well, enjoy the rest of your Spring and have a wonderful, FUN summer and I'll see ya when I get back!!

Hugs,
Ka

Good Luck Shaker Card

Hello everyone and welcome to this month's blog hop, aka SpiegelMom's Skippings! Today is extra special because SpiegelMom Scraps is not only revealing the fabulous new sequin mixes for this quarter (you can check it out here), but she's also welcoming this month's Guest Designer, Tiffani Nelson. We are super excited to have her designing with us this month so watch for her first blog post next week!

Here is a list of the Blog Hop participants in order:

For today's hop, I created a St. Patrick's inspired shaker card. These days, I can't get enough of shaker cards as they really are just so much fun to make and especially to give!! I bought this older Lawn Fawn My Lucky Charm Stamp Set awhile ago at my local scrapbook store that has the cutest images and sentiments. My favorite is this lucky cat image. So cute, right? I think this type of card works for a variety of occasions - graduation, retirement, moving to a new job, or just starting any new adventure.

I filled my shaker with the Spring Green Sequins Mix from SpiegelMom Scraps Shop, colored all my images with Copics, and hand cut them all out by hand, which was quite a task. But, I'm so happy with the end result that I really didn't mind about all the fussy cutting. After I had assembled my card, I noticed the sentiment wasn't as visible as I had wanted, so I went over the black StazOn ink with a white gel pen, and viola! Problem solved! :)

Well, thanks for hanging out with us today! I hope you were inspired by all the wonderful inspirations you've seen on the hop! I'd love for you be in the running for the $10.00 shop credit Jody is giving away on this blog hop, so be sure to leave comments on all the blogs to be entered! Now, you'll be heading over to wonderful and talented, Anna Sigga's blog! I know she has an amazing project to share! :)

SpiegelMom Scraps DT Post : Baby Boy Card

Hello friends,

Glad you're popping in today. I created a card for my DT post over at the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog. Jody, the owner just released this new Gold Sweetheart Confetti Sequins at her shop so I waned to feature them today. I absolutely love the beveled edges of these new sequins! They are just so pretty!! Anyway, I decided to do a non-traditional baby boy shaker card using these lovely new sequins and a few Lawn Fawn Stamps. The red embossed hearts sequins is from the Love Beats Sequins Mix which is also from SpiegelMom Scraps Shop too. You can hop on over to my DT post for more details.

Thanks for stopping by,

SpiegelMom Scraps International Scrapbooking Day Blog Hop

Here is a list of the Blog Hop participants in order:

For today's project I created some fun journaling cards to share with you. I gotta be honest, I do not scrapbook, but I do enjoy using journaling cards on my cards. I sometime buy the sheet of patterned paper that comes with the 3"x 4" journaling blocks and all you have to do is trim them down to size like this one from Dear Lizzy and this one from Echo Park Paper. Although I enjoyed using those printed journaling cards, I think sometime it's nice to make your own. For this project, I pulled out some of my favorite embellishments from SpiegelMom Scraps and my favorite 3"x 4" Stitched Journaling Card Dies from Lawn Fawn. I wanted to create the types of journaling cards that you can use them not only for jotting down your memories, but make cards with them too.

So, let's start with the first journaling card on the upper left hand. For this one, I blended in Frayed Burlap distress ink and sprayed some water on it. Then I die-cut some banners, tied a yellow twine, and added a yellow sequin on top. I created the second card on the upper right by lightly blending some Squeezed Lemonade distress ink and then went back to add some polka dots patterns by applying more pressure and using a polka dots stencil as a guide. I adhered the Pink Felt-Fetti Heart Die-cuts on the top and bottom. For the third card on the bottom left, I sprayed some pink Tattered Angels mist on a white doily and added a couple Blue Birds Of A Feathers Felties. Last card on the bottom right, I created a green ombre using Mowed Lawn distress ink and created the borders using some Studio Calico Chevron Wood Veneers.

I had so much fun making these and didn't even want to stop! But since I ran out of time, I decided to file the rest of the ideas I had in mind for another day! :) Well, I hope you enjoy today's dose of inspiration from me! Hop on over to Katty's Blog for her amazing project, which I'm sure you'll love! Thanks for stopping by! Happy Hopping!

SpiegelMom Scraps DT Post : Felt Feathers

Hello...

I'm over at the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog today sharing these felt feathers cards. I wanted these felt feathers to be the star, so I used only minimal supplies when creating these cards. The sentiments are from Mama Elephant Fair Feathers, which I heat-embossed in gold on acetate film. I blended Tumbled Glass distress ink behind the feathers to create a halo for visual interest. Well, I hope you enjoy today's cards! Make sure you hop over to my post for SpiegelMom Scraps Blog for more photos and details.

Thanks for stopping by!

Newton's Nook Designs Guest Design Post

Hello and Happy Leap Day!

Today is my Guest Design Post over at the Newton's Nook Blog. I am sharing this fun birthday card I made for my husband's birthday. Don't you just love this cute sloth and sentiment from the Newton's Nook Designs In Slow Motion stamp set? I absolutely love him and think he is the perfect critter for a masculine card.

For this card, I wanted to create a tropical rain forest sunset scene with a mountainous silhouette behind the sloth and I think I achieved the look I was going for. What do you think?

I started out by creating a mountainous mask using a wavy metal dies and masking paper. I first blended the upper part of a white cardstock and then went back to blend the mountainous silhouette. While I waited for the background to dry, I stamped, colored and fussy cut the sloth out. I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black StazOn Ink onto a piece of acetate cardstock. I decided to create my own nature sequins mix using an assorted colors and sizes from Pretty Pink Posh. After arranging everything to its proper place, I assembled the shaker and adhered the entire shaker to an Olive card base.

I don't know how anyone could pass up this stamp set. This set includes different types of critters and I love how you can use the critters for all sorts of occasions and different types of projects. So head over quickly to the Newton's Nook Shop to grab this set for you too! Today is the perfect opportunity to grab yours because they are running a Leap Day sale! You will get FREE Shipping with a $29 purchase to US addresses (or $3.50 off international orders)! Now go grab yours before they are sold out!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today's card!

Birthday Shaker Card + Iridescent Sequins

Hello crafty friends,

Today, I'm over at the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog with a birthday shaker card. I'm not sure about you, but I absolutely love iridescent sequins! I love matte-finished sequins too, but iridescent sequins are my favorite! I just love how their colors changes a little bit when the light hits!

I inked up some Mama Elephant stamps that I bought. I just love this cute Boston Terrier puppy from the Playful Pups set and sentiment from Mini Messages. I love this Spring color combo. I plan to give this card to a family member or friend whose birthday falls in Spring. If you want to learn more on how I made this card, pop on over to SpiegelMom Scraps for more details.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.
