Today I have a birthday card to share. This birthday card was inspired by the talented Yuki from Handmade By Yuki. I adore her cards and have always wanted to case something of hers. So when I received the Bonjour set by Avery Elle yesterday from a recent give-away, I decided to take the opportunity to ink this set and CAS(E) one of Yuki's adorable cards. I love the colors she used for her macarons cards and wanted to use the same colors for mine. I thought the color combo looks so pretty together!
This card is going to be given to my sister-in-law because her birthday is coming up and she absolutely loves macarons. She actually makes really good macarons too! So, I hope this card will be just as sweet as the ones she make! ;)
I started off by stamping my macarons and fussy cut them out. I used Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling die, Stitched Hillside Borders die, and Stitched Scallop Borders die to create my focal panel. The cardstock behind my macarons is SSS fog gray and is the only color that was not part of Yuki's color combo. I decided to add this color to help define the plate. After die-cutting all my focal panel pieces, I stamped the sentiment that is included in the set using VersaFine Black pigment ink onto my "white plate." For my card base, I did some tone-on-tone stamping using the border stamp that was also included in the set. To finish off my card, I wrapped a gray twine around my card front twice and tied it into a bow.
Beside the fussy cutting on the macarons, this card was relatively fast to make. The background stamping didn't take that long either. I hope you enjoy today's card and don't forget to swing by Yuki's blog to check out her sweet macarons card set and her other amazing cards! Thanks for stopping in!
