Mama Elephant In My Heart: I'll Be Here

Hi crafty friends! We've made it through another week! I hope your week wasn't too long and arduous, and if it was, well look on the bright side... it's Friday! And to celebrate this wonderful Friday, I made a cute card using the adorable little people from Mama Elephant In My Heart stamp set. I just absolutely love this stamp set; who could resist a group of tiny people and critters?!

This week Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is Up In The Clouds. I thought the clouds from Lawn Fawn Into The Woods stamp set would be perfect for this challenge. And, after seeing My Favorite Things current Sketch Challenge #213 I thought that it be perfect to pair it with SSS Clouds challenge. Also, this week at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes, so I like to enter this card into that challenge as well.

Since I was planning on coloring the little girl with Copics Markers, I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black. Then I colored her with Copics. Since I didn’t have any matching Copics to add for shading, I just went over with the colored areas once more to give them a little depth. I love doing this since my Copics collection is still quite modest.

Once the little girl was colored and fussy cut, I began working on my sentiment. I cut a strip of Bo Bunny Sweet Pear Dot paper and used a square punch to create a banner. I heat embossed the sentiment in black. That sentiment strip was set aside with the little girl, so I wouldn't loose them while I work on my focal panel.

For my focal panel, I die cut a white cardstock using a frame from Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles Stackables dies. I masked off the stitched edges and stamped my clouds in VersaMark. I white heat embossed the clouds. Then I colored the paper using Tumbled Glass Distress ink.

I cut a black polka dots paper from DCWV into a square and adhered that to my card base along with the focal panel and sentiment strip. To finish the card, I threaded a blue baker’s twine into the button and tied it into a bow. I attached the button using glue dots.

That wraps up my card for today. I just absolutely love this little scene. I felt that the little girl is reaching out to the recipient and ready to give her a hug. :) Thanks again for stopping by and see you again soon!

Stamping Up! True Friend: I'm So Grateful

Hello crafty friends! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far! Here in the Southeast Wisconsin area, we only had some light snow, so I was able to go out and run some errands. It was nice to get some fresh air and actually enjoy winter without the negative temperature and chilling wind.

Today's post features my card entry for the Flashback Friday Challenge. This is the 3rd challenge and it's all about flowers! I love anything flowers so it's the perfect challenge for me!

For today's card, I wanted to feature the flower medallion from a retired set called True Friend. Since I wanted the flower to be the main focus, I stamped the sentiment "I'm so grateful" from Mama Elephant Many Thanks set repeatedly in Moonlight pigment ink for a subtle background. Then I ran my stamped background panel through my die-cut machine using a frame from Avery Elle Finished Frames dies set. That panel was adhered to my coral card base.

For my flower, I stamped it 3 times - one in each color (Apricot, Ocean and Sunshine pigment inks). I fussy cut the flowers out and layered them. I distress the edges of the flower in Ocean ink with Vintage Photo distress ink. To finish my card, I popped my flower with foam dimensional dots and added a clear gemstone to the center of the flower.

I also wanted to share this behind-the-scene photo with you before I sign off. I seriously thought this background was going to take me forever to create, but surprisingly, it didn't. Yay! It took me about 10 minutes to mask, draw the guidelines and ink this background up. This is a really great way to stretch your sentiment stamps. I'll definitely be doing some more of this word/sentiment type background! :)

And, that's all for today's card. I absolutely love how neat the background came out and I really enjoyed using my older stamps again. Thanks again for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week!

Avery Elle Petals and Stems: Merci

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! To start off the week, I made a card using white colored pencil to bring my flat flower to life by highlighting the edges of the petals. I made this card for the latest My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.  I recently purchased the Avery Elle "Petals and Stems" stamp set and I've just been dying to use it! The flowers in this set is just so beautiful and I love that it has solid images so I could, if I wanted to skip the extra step of coloring.

I started by cutting a piece of striped patterned paper just a tad smaller than my card base and punch the bottom part using a scallop border punch. That panel was adhered to my kraft card base. I stamped my sentiment in Versamark onto white cardstock and heat embossed with black embossing powders. I matted the sentiment strip with a larger strip of purple cardstock and adhered it to the card.

For my flower and leaves, I stamped the flower in Eggplant, the nectar in Sunshine and the leaves in Mojito pigment inks. I colored in areas of the petals where the light might be hitting the top of the flower. I added some glittery shine using my clear Wink of Stella glitter brush. Then I fussy cut them. I popped the flower with dimensional foam dots and tucked the leaves behind the flower with a little adhesive.

And that's the card for today! A pretty clean and simple card. I didn't have to think too much which is a good thing in my book! I hope you enjoyed today's post and thanks again for stopping by!

Lawn Fawn Into The Woods: We Belong Together

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has fun plans for this weekend! Winter here in South Wisconsin hasn't been too bad so I'll be doing some outdoor mall shopping this weekend. To celebrate the end of the week, I made a CAS card for Lawn Fawn challenge Create A Background and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Have A Heart.

I started by embossing my cardstock with a stitched frame from Mama Elephant Sew Fancy die set. Then I masked off the sides and stamped my clouds from Lawn Fawn Into The Woods stamp set in Winter pigment ink. Next, I stamped my log in Hazel and rounded the bottom corners with a small corner rounder punch. I adhered that piece to my card base.

For my foxes, I stamped the male fox twice in Versafine black pigment ink. One on orange paper and the other on white cardstock. For my female fox, I used the mirror technique and stamped her 2 times too. I went over the lines of my female fox with a black copic multiliner pen. This just help to darken the lines. I hand draw a bow with the same black pen on a pink paper. I fussy cut the foxes and bow using a paper snips scissor. Then some black enamel accents was added to the foxes eyes and noses. I also added a clear gemstone to the bow. I paper-pieced my foxes using the extra stamped foxes. Both of the foxes were adhered to the card.

To finish my card, I stamped two hearts (also from Into The Woods stamp set) in Lollipop and then stamped the sentiment "We Belong Together" from Mama Elephant Love Quotes stamp set in VersaFine black.

Thanks again for stopping by and don't forget to swing by the Lawn Fawn Challenge Blog and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! Have a good weekend!

Lawn Fawn Into The Woods: You're The Cutest

Hi folks! Today's post features my card entry to the latest My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge. This was such a fun card to make and I really enjoyed coloring the little fox!

This card features the little fox from Into The Woods stamp set. I stamped my little fox in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copic markers. I fussy cut the fox, added some black enamel accents to his eyes and nose and set it aside. I cut a 1/2"x 4" strip of Rose Red cardstock to create a banner.  Then I stamped my sentiment from Pandamonium stamp set with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powders.

For my cardbase, I stamped the diagonal striped from Basic Borders stamp set in Orangeade just on the top and bottom portion. I adhered Sweet Pear Dot cardstock to the center of the cardbase. I rounded the top corners of the cloud patterned paper and centered that paper on top of the Sweet Pear Dot cardstock. Then my banner and fox was adhere on top of the cloud paper.

And that wraps up my card for today. I tried to keep this card relatively clean and simple. I hope you'll check out and participate at My Favorite Things sketch challenge too! Thanks again for stopping by and until next time! ♥

Mama Elephant Pandamonium: Hello There

Hello and welcome to my first post! This post features a card I made for Neat and Tangled Challenge blog Little Tangles and Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge Inky Background using a couple of Mama Elephant stamps.

I started off by masking my card front edges with post it notes about 1/4" all around. I also created a mask for my panda to use it for later. Then I stamped the balloons from Good Times stamp set in Fresh Mint, Stargazer and Pacific Blue. The panda from Pandamonium stamp set was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. Next, I went over the balloons with glossy accents and set the card aside to dry.

For my background, I blended Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry distress inks together to create a sunny pinkish sky. Once that is dried, I stamped the "hello there" sentiment also from Good Times stamp set in VersaMark. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powders. I finished the card off by stamping the balloons strings in Dark Storm.

I thought this card was relatively easy to make and I absolutely love how simple and cute it came out! Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!
