Lawn Fawn: I Love Fall Friendship Card

***If you’re here to apply or read more about my DESIGN TEAM CALL for the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge you can click here. Thank you!***

Hello crafty friends!

Today I have another card to share using the Design Team Call Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Board. This time I used the first row down to inspire my project: Forest Friends, Leaves and Twine. I haven’t play with the Lawn Fawn Into The Woods stamp set in awhile, so I decided to use that set to create this super cute card.

(Sorry, my photo is a bit crooked)

I started the card by stamping the background with Hero Arts Envelope Pattern background stamp. I cut a piece of cloud patterned paper into a square and then die-cut the grasses using Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Dies. The leaves were a two steps stamping process – I first stamped all the solid colors and then went back and stamped the black outlined leaves on top. The longest part about making this card was fussy cutting all those tiny leaves. It was very time consuming, but worth it!

Aren’t these foxes just the cutest?! I used the mirror technique on the fox on the right. They were colored with copic markers and then I used Ranger Black Enamel Accents on their eyes and noses. They were also fussy cut and popped with glue dimensional dots. For the sentiment, I planned to say “we” instead of “I” but after a couple fail attempts at handwriting and trying to match the font, I decided to give up and used the sentiment as is. To finish my card, I used a matching embroidery thread and tied it into a bow.

Even though the card took me a little longer to make than expected, I still had fun making it and I absolutely love the result. I do hope you like today’s card too and that you are inspired to use the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge Board to create your next project. If you decide to play along, link it and let me know in your post that you’re just playing for fun. Thank you for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon!

Whimsy Stamps: Hoo Hoo Hooray!

***If you're here to apply or read more about my DESIGN TEAM CALL for the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge you can click here. Thank You!***

Hi crafty friends! First of all, I want to thank all of you for your kind words, sweet wishes and encouragements on my new venture! You are all fabulous and so awesome! Secondly, I would love for anyone, even my crafty and blogging friends to apply too. The reasons I did not personally invite anyone was because I do not know what everyone plans are and I wouldn't want any conflicts of interest between them and their current design team. So, I apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings. I do want you to apply and I really hope that you do. This way I know for sure that you are interested and/or have no conflicts of interest (if you are on a design team).

Now that what needed to be said is out of the way, we can move on to today's project. I wanted to pop in to show a sample card I made for the Design Team Call Challenge. I plan on making more samples throughout this month to inspire you and hopefully motivate you to play along even if you only want to play just for fun and not for the design team position.

For this card, I was especially inspired to pull out and dust off my woodgrain embossing folder to create a cute birthday card. I decided to chose the first row going diagonal from top left to bottom right - forest friends, embossing and woodgrain.

I dried embossed a textured brown cardstock with the woodgrain embossing folder, die cut a stitched circle on the center of the embossed panel and backed a vellum cloud patterned paper that I talked about here behind the cut-out circle. Then I adhered the entire embossed panel to a confetti card base. Don't these owls look like they just flew in to a friend's house?

The owls were stamped in Mama Elephant Smoke pigment inks and then colored with Copic Markers. I added glossy accents to both of the owls eyes and popped them up against the window using dimensional adhesives.

I decided to black heat embossed the sentiment onto a speech bubble wood veneer, but unfortunately it didn't turn out as well as I hope. As you can see in the photo some of the embossing powders kind of melt into the wood. But, I'm glad the sentiment is still readable though. Next, I wanted to add something sparkly, so I die-cut a small balloon out of aqua glitter paper using one of the Lawn Fawn Party Balloons Dies. I finished the card by tying a white twine to the balloon and scattering some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to my card.

I absolutely adore these owls! They are just too cute! They definitely are my latest obsession! Hehehe. I really hope you enjoyed today's simple card and were inspired by today's sample for the Design Team Call Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! I personally am finding the tic-tac-toe challenge to be so much fun and full of possibilities and that's why I LOVE IT! Again, thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

The Ton Stamps: Keep Calm Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends!

Happy Hump Day! I hope you are enjoying your week so far! Today I have a card using the Shoe Wardrobe Solid stamp set from The Ton Stamps. When I first saw this set, I knew I have to have it not for me, but for all the lovely women I know who digs shoes. For me personally, I don't feel the need to have so many pairs of shoes. I'm one of those people who wears their shoes over and over until it has holes. Haha! Oh, and also I rarely wear high heels. I love my flats, flip flops and converse! :)

Today's card is fairly simple to make. I stamped all different kinds of shoes in Mama Elephant Fresh Mint ink onto the card base. I created a frame by drawing straight lines using my Black Copic Multiliner pen and a ruler. Then I stamped the sentiment in versamark and the main image in Mama Elephant Tutti Frutti ink onto a vellum sheet. The pinkish-purple shoe was then clear heat embossed and the sentiment was gold heat embossed. I finished the card with some gold sequins.

I had so much fun stamping those beautiful shoes and playing with the embossing powders. I absolutely love the fresh color combo on this card and how everything turned out. I can see myself using this set all year round to make beautiful shoe cards for all my friends. I do hope you enjoyed today's card. Thanks again for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Newton's Nook Designs: Doxie Birthday

Hello there!

Happy October 1st! I cannot believe September just flew by! I guess time goes fast when one is having fun and secretly planning something. :D There are a lot of exciting things going on this month, not only in my personal life, but crafting and blogging too. I won't be able to share the crafty news with you today, but I will tell you that it involves lots of FUN and STAMPS! And, NO! I'm not starting a new stamp company just in case some of you are thinking that. I can't even draw or create a brush in photoshop, so starting a stamp company is very unlikely. I'm just so excited that some days I can barely sit still! :) I just thought I tell you a little something so you know what's going on if you don't see a card from me for several days. :)

Anywho, today, I have a birthday card to share using one of the cute doxie from Newton's Nook Designs Delightful Doxies set. I just adore those cute doxies and love how much fun they are having. This one in particular is tied to a balloon! How fun is that! To be able to drift far away with the clouds to wherever she's going sounds wonderful. And dreamy.

The clouds patterned paper is actually a piece of vellum paper from Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Collection. This is one of the paper that I held on to for many years and just finally decided it was time to use it. I don't really see these types of specialty papers at Michaels, Hobby Lobby or JoAnn. This paper was actually bought at Archivers when we still had one in our area. I actually miss going there with my sister. It was one of the place that my sister and I bonded over and it's also how I found scrapbooking. Taking classes, browsing the isles and standing at their counter making make-and-take projects. Such fun memories! Oh, well, there's nothing that one can do except treasure the memories made there. I'm sorry for going off topic and went a little mushy on you guys.

As you can see in the photo above, I added some glossy accents to the balloons and heat embossed the strings. The doxie was colored with Copic Markers and so was the balloons and butterfly. I don't know if you can see in the photo, but I added some tiny white dots on one of the butterfly wings using the Uni-ball White Gel pen. The giant cloud was die-cut using Mama Elephant Landscape Trio. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! Petite Pairs set.

Well, I hope you were inspired by today's card! Thanks again for stopping by and seeing my work! Enjoy the rest of your week!
