SpiegelMom Scraps DT Post : Baby Boy Card

Hello friends,

Glad you're popping in today. I created a card for my DT post over at the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog. Jody, the owner just released this new Gold Sweetheart Confetti Sequins at her shop so I waned to feature them today. I absolutely love the beveled edges of these new sequins! They are just so pretty!! Anyway, I decided to do a non-traditional baby boy shaker card using these lovely new sequins and a few Lawn Fawn Stamps. The red embossed hearts sequins is from the Love Beats Sequins Mix which is also from SpiegelMom Scraps Shop too. You can hop on over to my DT post for more details.

Here is a list of the Blog Hop participants in order:

For today's project I created some fun journaling cards to share with you. I gotta be honest, I do not scrapbook, but I do enjoy using journaling cards on my cards. I sometime buy the sheet of patterned paper that comes with the 3"x 4" journaling blocks and all you have to do is trim them down to size like this one from Dear Lizzy and this one from Echo Park Paper. Although I enjoyed using those printed journaling cards, I think sometime it's nice to make your own. For this project, I pulled out some of my favorite embellishments from SpiegelMom Scraps and my favorite 3"x 4" Stitched Journaling Card Dies from Lawn Fawn. I wanted to create the types of journaling cards that you can use them not only for jotting down your memories, but make cards with them too.

So, let's start with the first journaling card on the upper left hand. For this one, I blended in Frayed Burlap distress ink and sprayed some water on it. Then I die-cut some banners, tied a yellow twine, and added a yellow sequin on top. I created the second card on the upper right by lightly blending some Squeezed Lemonade distress ink and then went back to add some polka dots patterns by applying more pressure and using a polka dots stencil as a guide. I adhered the Pink Felt-Fetti Heart Die-cuts on the top and bottom. For the third card on the bottom left, I sprayed some pink Tattered Angels mist on a white doily and added a couple Blue Birds Of A Feathers Felties. Last card on the bottom right, I created a green ombre using Mowed Lawn distress ink and created the borders using some Studio Calico Chevron Wood Veneers.

I had so much fun making these and didn't even want to stop! But since I ran out of time, I decided to file the rest of the ideas I had in mind for another day! :) Well, I hope you enjoy today's dose of inspiration from me! Hop on over to Katty's Blog for her amazing project, which I'm sure you'll love! Thanks for stopping by! Happy Hopping!

SpiegelMom Scraps DT Post : Felt Feathers

I'm over at the SpiegelMom Scraps Blog today sharing these felt feathers cards. I wanted these felt feathers to be the star, so I used only minimal supplies when creating these cards. The sentiments are from Mama Elephant Fair Feathers, which I heat-embossed in gold on acetate film. I blended Tumbled Glass distress ink behind the feathers to create a halo for visual interest. Well, I hope you enjoy today's cards! Make sure you hop over to my post for SpiegelMom Scraps Blog for more photos and details.
